Right Around The Corner

Things have a tendency of sneaking up on me. I guess because I work on something for so long it never feels like it is getting close.

I was sitting in church on Sunday and realized that July starts in 2 days (which by now it has already started) and thought to myself: “Everything that I have been working on over the past year will be here in less than 2 months.” It was an extremely scary/awesome thought to have and pumped me up to a sense of wanting to scream with excitement in the middle of church (good thing I didn’t because I  probably would have scared some people).

Here are the 2 things:

1. FreedomGeneration starts in August and can I just say that this student ministry is going to blow the city of Acworth away. I am unbelievably excited with what God is going to do with this ministry and how the kids are going to respond to it. We already have a great group committed to helping the ministry expand and grow and I can’t wait to see what is going to happen.

2. Reveal is in about 2 months (August 23rd) and this has been the thing that has snuck up on me the fastest. It feels like yesterday when I first had the thought of doing something like this and now we are in year 2 of an amazing journey that God is just beginning to unfold in my life. If you can, MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND REVEAL ‘08 because I have this awkward/funny/amazing/ridiculous feeling about what God is going to do this year.

Pray As One

For those of you that know me an/or read my blog you may notice that I post a lot about Reveal. If you don’t know what this is then click the link and check it out for a second.

I had this idea of a huge prayer, offering, blessing, praise, celebration; a time of worship. God has been working on my heart for this years event and I have this feeling, this passion burning inside of me that God is going to blow my mind in what He is going to through this event. “The date is August 23rd, the time is 4:00, and God is going to pour Himself upon these youth” - that is the thought that I keep having over and over again.

Here Is What I Am Asking Of You:

We are going to have 2 huge prayer opportunities:

1. This will be an individual prayer and individual blessing on what God is going to do at this years event. A prayer that God is going to completely show off at this years event and capture the hearts of all the youth that attend.

–This prayer is going to be held on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 8:00PM. It will be only a few minutes long and it will be an offering to God (please pray for as long as you wish, even if it is only a quick second). I ask, if you wish to participate, to stop what you are doing at 8:00PM and pray for the youth attending, the volunteers helping, the location, that God will fill the event with His presence, His love, His power and whatever else your heart cries out. I think that this can be an amazing opportunity for us as one in Christ.

2. We are going to have a HUGE group prayer at a location to be determined. It will be on Friday, August 22nd, the night before Reveal. More information on this to come later.

Friday Frenzy

1. I am currently camping with a bunch of people from Freedom and tomorrow we are going White Water Rafting!

2. Been a fantastic week getting to know some people. I always love great talks.

3. Only had to work 2 days this week cuz of my trip this weekend and it has been a nice break.

4. Huge service for Freedom this Sunday! It’s going to be phenomenal.

5. Reveal is right around the corner and I am unbelievably excited for what God is going to do this year!

6. Can I just say that it is has been FANTASTIC week!

Authentic

I guess it has really been my prayer lately just to be more authentic. To be more real in the person that I am an not be ashamed in what I do and what I stand for. For people to know the “real me” and not the assumed me. It has definitely been eye opening and life changing over the past few days of spending time with Matt, Kelsianne, and Jody. Eyes have been opened and we have had a reality check with one another and it has been phenomenal. I think it is essential for us to be authentic with one another if we wish for God to do a movement in not only our personal lives but also in the life of FreedomChurch.

I just pulled this video up by Chris Tomlin from Passion ‘07 and it got me thinking “what if we were this authentic in  not only worship but in everyday life. Would this help bring the Kingdom of God here in an unbelievable way?” Just a though that I had, but the worship in this video is unbelievably authentic and real and this is what I strive for my life to be like and pray that I can somehow reach this point in my every breath.

Friday Frenzy

1. Just got off of an extremely long and tiring night of work. I’m dead. Somebody please come revive me.

2. Hung out with a bunch of people last night from Freedom and we played some dirty minds (yea, thats right) and signs.

3. Father’s Day at Freedom is going to completely blow some faces off (not literally, only figuratively speaking).

4. Going to see Strangers on Monday night and I’m pretty excited about it because that movie looks mighty scary.

5. Theistic Thinking has really been challenging me this week. Pretty neat website.

6. Reveal is right around the corner and we are just about ready. Pretty exciting times here.

Pedalboard

So, I have 1 more pedal coming in: Boss DD-5.

Just won it on ebay today, so it should hopefully be here in the next few days.

I’m pretty excited because this all will help further all of the music that we do.
